Day four: Military bird

Made in openCanvas 4.5 using a Wacom Intuos 3

Not sure how military he looks, but still, that's what first came to my mind when being more or less finished with this picture, so that's what it'll be :)

Day two: Elements

Created in openCanvas4.5 using a Wacom Intuos 3

I began by playing around a bit with the results of a "plasma" filter, but it quickly changed into something else. Eventually I ended up with this. The elements the name talks about are the different elements the ancient greeks thought the world was made of. Water, air, fire and earth.

Day one: The one that started it all

Created in openCanvas4.5 using a Wacom Intuos 3
Despite not being a part of the actual desktop-a-day this picture belongs here because it was after I had created this I got the idea to start with this project in the first place. While not being very planned or technically well-done I still like this picture, there's something interesting in the contrast between the simple, childish shapes and the more "professional-looking" colors and effects.

Introducing desktop-a-day

I enjoy painting and drawing, but have had trouble actually taking the time required to do something.
Recently I got an idea that I hope will change that though. The idea is to every day,
unless something keeps me away from the computer, paint a simple picture.
To really get me to do this I decided that I should make them the size of my desktop
(on my computer, not the RL one) and change my wallpaper to see it.
Then I thought it could be fun for others to see my pictures and decided
to start a blog about it, and here we are :-)
